With an extensive background spanning over 17 years in research and education, I am currently engaged in the role of Lecturer (TFA) at Victoria University, where I contribute to shaping the next generation of professionals. Additionally, I am advancing research in the field of smart analytics as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Smart Analytics, Federation University Australia. My work focuses on leveraging innovative methods and techniques to solve complex problems, reflecting my commitment to both academic excellence and practical innovation.

Career Highlights

Dr Ranesh Naha is a highly accomplished researcher in Information Technology. He earned his PhD from the University of Tasmania in 2021. Currently, he is a Lecturer (TFA) at Victoria University and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Federation University Australia.  Dr. Naha served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide from 2021 to 2023 in a research project funded by the DSTG group. Dr Naha has published numerous research articles in top-ranking international journals, including prestigious publishers such as Elsevier, Springer, ACM, IEEE, Taylor & Francis, and Wiley. His research focuses on Fog computing, IoT/Fog/Edge modelling and simulation, Cybersecurity, AI & ML and Blockchain.

To date, Dr Naha has published 35 peer-reviewed articles, including 24 journal articles, six conference papers, and five book chapters. According to Google Scholar, he holds an h-index of 15 and an i10-index of 18. One of his research works, published in 2018, has been recognised as a highly cited paper for four consecutive years by the Web of Science, which places it in the top 1% of the academic field of Engineering in the world. Furthermore, according to the Web of Science, his six research works fall into the >92nd citation percentile. His research endeavours have resulted in contributions to top-ranking venues including "Future Generation Computer Systems (JCR IF: 7.5, Q1)," "Journal of Network and Computer Applications (JCR IF: 8.7, Q1)," "ACM Transactions on IoT (JCR IF: 2.7, Q1 (SJR))," "Technology in Society (JCR IF: 9.2, Q1)," "Computer Networks (JCR IF: 5.6, Q1)," "Computer Communications (JCR IF: 6, Q1)," and other influential venues.

Dr Naha has been recognised for his outstanding academic achievements and has received various scholarships and awards throughout his career. He was awarded the Tasmania Graduate Research Scholarship (TGRS) in 2017 to support his PhD studies, and during his MSc studies, he was granted the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) provided by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia, in 2012. He has also secured industry research funding with APR.Intern in 2021, where he worked on a defence project.

Dr Naha's research interests include wired and wireless networks, distributed computing (Fog/Edge/Cloud), Cybersecurity, blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Software-defined networking (SDN) and AI & ML. He has also served as a TPC member for several international conferences and is an active reviewer for top computer science journals, including CSUR, FGCS, IEEE IoT, TCC-CS, TETCI, TII, TC-CS, T-ITS, IEEE-TNSE, TPDS, SYTEMS and COMMAG. Dr Naha's exceptional research work and achievements demonstrate his expertise and commitment to advancing the field of Information Technology.
